Welcome to Waverly,
Tennessee
Waverly is well-known for being a small town situated near the famously crystal-clear Buffalo River and the Tennessee River/Kentucky Lake in the heart of Humphreys County. Known for lazy floats, cold-water trophy fishing and wide-open landscapes, Waverly is an ideal access point for exploring the communities of Hurricane Mills, McEwen and New Johnsonville.
Outdoor adventure defines Humphreys County while more than 160,000 acres of public land and 2,000 miles of shoreline surround its epicenter, Waverly. Kentucky Lake, the largest reservoir in the TVA system and a major hydroelectric power source for the region, offers world-class fishing, boating and water recreation, while the Duck River Unit of the Tennessee National Wildlife Refuge provides miles of trails and prime spots for birding, hunting, camping and wildlife viewing.
Waverly is also home to one of Tennessee’s most iconic attractions: Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in Hurricane Mills. The 3,500-acre property features a museum, Western Town, guided tours of Loretta’s home, OHV-friendly roads, and year-round events like Jeep jams and chuckwagon races. Visitors can stay on-site with RV hookups, cabins or primitive camping
